There is a new Christian bookstore which has a cafe in it. We are holding two Stonecroft Bible Studies there each week.
We are also offering a SBS at the 9:30 service time at our church. The women who have children have a place for them in the Sunday School and especially if the women work during the week, Sunday morning is a convenient and sometime the only time for them to attend a study. They can then attend the 11 a.m service afterward.
The morning a new coordinator, Jolene Heidebrink, did a Bible study with her co-worker (they are night nurses at the hospital) and she accepted the Lord. That study was at a local restaurant.
One on one studies are very successful in our area. Many ladies do not want others to know of their lack of knowledge of the Bible so they would rather start out one on one. Once they get involved and feel comfortable, they are wanting to study with others.
Great ideas Lane! I was a young Mom with three homeschooled sons living way out in the country when I accepted Christ at an outreach luncheon. I was asked to be in a study in town (14 miles away). A one on one would have been perfect for me. It was another six years before I finally got into a Stonecroft Bible Study. I agree, we do need to be prepared to reach out one on one. God bless!

A local pastor has just retired and mentioned that he is looking for a place to minister. Tonight he started a Life’s New Beginning SBS at a local library. The group of young men from the local Christian drug rehab center will be his core group. We’re praying others will soon join for the next study. We are also plannig to meet with the Narcotics Anonymous leader who wants more Christian outreach for those involved in drugs in our small mountain town.
Another Ladies SBS group meets at church during our Wednesday night Pioneer Club.
We have two groups meeting in a small local coffee shop on the SW side of Santa Fe. Another SBS group meeting in a Gated over 55 Community Club House… group is full and an Introductory Coffee is planned 4/7 to begin another study group. Another group has been meeting at our local Border’s Bookstore, others meeting in a local restaurant and just today I stopped at a small coffee/sandwich shop on the southern end of our community and asked permission to hold a study there. NO PROBLEM! THANK YOU JESUS. I’ve found that some women prefer these public areas that put them in a commerce center. It’s easy for them to multi-task, run errands, grocery shop etc. and NO ONE HAS TO TIDY THEIR HOME OR BAKE! It’s good for people to see us praying and studying together in public. We are praying to soon have studies on our local INTEL campus. Their Advisory Committee is evaluating our materials as I type this. GOD is blessing our efforts.
